Monika Kalia

Ms. Monika Kalia serves as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID), where she oversees key functions including Treasury, Bond Market Development, Resource Raising, Transaction Advisory, and Finance & Planning.

Earlier, Ms. Kalia served as an Executive Director at Bank of India, where she led diverse functions including Risk Management, Cyber Security, Internal Audit & Inspection, and Fraud Risk Management. Prior to this, she gained extensive 360-degree exposure to corporate and field banking during her tenure with Union Bank of India. She successfully led the three-in-one amalgamation of Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank with Union Bank of India.

With over 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Kalia has served the banking and financial services industry in a wide range of capacities. She has held several key managerial positions, including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Grievance Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Company Secretary, in addition to handling core banking functions. She has also served as a Director on the Boards of Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance and Union Asset Management Trustee Company.

A Fellow of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (CAIIB), Ms. Kalia has also completed the Leadership Development Programme for Senior Management of Public Sector Banks conducted by the Banks Board Bureau at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Throughout her professional career, Ms. Kalia has received several awards and recognitions for her contributions to the banking and financial services sector. These include the Global Women Achiever Award (2019), recognition among the Top 100 Women in Finance in India (2020) by the Association of International Wealth Management of India, and the prestigious ET Infra Leadership Award – Infra Women Leader of the Year 2025.
