Bharat RE Summit & Expo 2026: India Sets the Stage for Global Clean Energy Action The curtain raiser in New Delhi marked the beginning of a larger global conversation — one that will bring renewable energy, solar cooperation and green hydrogen together on a single platform.

New Delhi, 23 July 2026: India formally set the stage for the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 at a curtain raiser held in New Delhi, outlining an ambitious global platform designed to connect policy with capital, technology with markets and clean energy ambition with implementation.

The Summit will be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 2 to 5 November 2026. For the first time, it will bring together three major international platforms: the Bharat RE Summit & Expo, the Ninth Session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly and the Fourth International Conference on Green Hydrogen. The Curtain Raiser brought together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, investors, academia, and international stakeholders, setting the tone for meaningful dialogue, strategic partnerships, and transformative collaborations. As the opening milestone of BRE 2026, the event reflected India's growing leadership in renewable energy and reaffirmed its vision of driving innovation and sustainability.

A Global Platform with a Wider Mandate

Addressing the curtain raiser, the Hon’ble Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Shri Pralhad Joshi, positioned the Summit as an important milestone in India’s engagement with the global clean energy community.

The event will convene renewable energy developers, manufacturers, technology companies, battery-storage firms, green hydrogen enterprises, investors, financial institutions and international organisations, representing the complete clean energy value chain.

Invitations have been extended to 34 countries for the Bharat RE Summit & Expo, while the International Solar Alliance has invited representatives from 128 countries to participate in its Assembly. (Press Information Bureau)

The scale is significant, but the larger proposition lies in what the gathering intends to deliver: stronger technology partnerships, new investment pathways, international collaboration and implementable clean energy projects.

India Arrives with Credibility

India enters this conversation with a track record of delivery. As of 30 June 2026, the country’s renewable energy capacity stood at 288.58 GW, including 162.15 GW of solar and 57.44 GW of wind energy. India is now moving towards the landmark of 300 GW of installed non-fossil-fuel capacity. (Hindustan Times)

The Next Phase of the Transition

The Hon’ble Minister of State, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, highlighted the role of India’s states in driving the transition—from Rajasthan’s solar expansion and Gujarat’s hybrid renewable energy park at Khavda to advances in hydropower, floating solar, biomass and decentralised energy across the country.

The Hon’ble Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Shri Santosh Kumar Sarangi, identified four foundations behind India’s transformation: policy stability, market creation, ecosystem development and transmission infrastructure.

He also outlined the priorities for the next phase, including hybrid renewable projects, battery energy storage, floating solar, agrivoltaics and the National Green Hydrogen Mission. (Press Information Bureau)
