Participant Categories

The Quiz will be conducted across three categories:

• School Students: Classes 9–12
• College Students
• Young Professionals

Quiz Format

The competition will be conducted in two stages:
Stage 1: Regional Semifinals
Stage 2: National Finals

The format of the National Finals will vary by category:

• School Students: Online National Final
• Young Professionals: Online National Final
• College Students: Offline National Final at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi

Regional Semifinals

The Regional Semifinals are proposed to be held during the third or fourth week of September 2026.
Participants will be required to register on the day of the Quiz, following which the Quiz will commence.

Each Regional Semifinal will consist of 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) covering various aspects of renewable energy, including:

• Solar Energy | Wind Energy | Bioenergy | Small Hydro | Green Hydrogen | New and emerging forms of renewable energy

Scoring & Tie-Breaking

• Each correct answer will carry 1 mark.
• There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.
• In the event of two or more teams securing the same score, the time taken to complete the Quiz will be used as the tie-breaker.
• The team completing the Quiz in the least amount of time will receive the higher rank.

Qualification for the National Finals

School Students & Young Professionals

• The top three teams from each region will qualify for the respective Online National Finals, scheduled to be held in late October 2026.

College Students

• Only the top-ranked team from each region will qualify for the National Final.

A total of five finalist teams will compete in the offline National Final on 5 November 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

Eligibility Restrictions

The Quiz is intended exclusively for non-MNRE participants. The following persons are not eligible to participate:

• Regular or contractual employees of MNRE
• Employees of MNRE's autonomous institutions
• Employees of MNRE-associated PSUs
• Employees of the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI)

Participant Verification

All participants must carry a valid photo identity card for verification. Identity verification may be undertaken as part of the participation process.

Fair Participation & Conduct

Participants are expected to maintain the highest standards of fairness and integrity throughout the competition. The use of any unfair means or malpractice is strictly prohibited.

Final Authority

In the event of any dispute relating to the Quiz, including matters concerning participation, evaluation, ranking or interpretation of the rules, the decision of the Secretary, MNRE shall be final and binding.
