Bio
Yoshiyuki Morii is a senior banking executive at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).
He graduated from Kyoto University with a Bachelor of Economics in March 1999. He began his banking career with The Sumitomo Bank Limited in April 1999. He has held several senior leadership positions across SMBC’s international offices. He served as Chief Representative at SMBC’s Singapore Branch and Yangon Representative Office.
At SMBC’s Tokyo Head Office, he worked as Senior Executive Director and Head of Business Planning. In Dubai, he held senior roles in the Middle East Department and CEEMEA Corporate Banking. In London, he served as Managing Director and Head of Middle East, Turkey and Africa Corporate Banking. He also held the position of Managing Director at SMBC Bank International in London.
As of April 2026, he serves as Managing Director and Co-Head of the Corporate & Investment Banking Department, India.
