Surajit Chanda

Surajit Chanda is a senior power and renewable-energy professional with over 20 years of experience, including more than 15 years in the renewable-energy sector, with expertise spanning business strategy, renewable-energy development, commercial structuring, regulatory affairs, and government & policy advocacy.

He is currently Vice President & Head – Utility & Regulatory at Enfinity Global India, where he provides strategic leadership across the Utility and C&I renewable-energy businesses. He has played a key role in building renewable-energy portfolios, securing competitive bids, and shaping commercial and regulatory strategies across utility-scale and C&I projects.

Surajit is also Chairman, C&I National Committee of NSEFI, where he represents the interests of the C&I renewable-energy industry and contributes to policy and regulatory discussions with Central and State Governments, regulators, utilities, and other stakeholders. He has been actively engaged in shaping the evolving framework for Green Open Access, C&I renewable energy, renewable-energy markets, ISTS connectivity, and ease of doing business, with a focus on enabling greater industrial adoption of renewable energy.

An alumnus of IIM Calcutta, NPTI, and Jabalpur Engineering College, Surajit previously held leadership roles at Aditya Birla Renewables, where he played a key role in building and scaling its utility-scale renewable-energy business and securing approximately 1.5 GW of renewable-energy projects. He subsequently contributed to C&I renewable-energy strategy, M&A, and fundraising initiatives. Earlier in his career, he held business-development and advisory roles with ACME Solar, IL&FS Energy, and Tata Power Delhi Distribution, among others.
