Suman is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at Evren (a Brookfield Group Company dedicated to renewable energy and energy transition). He has more than 23 years of experience in renewable energy, climate change and energy policy. Prior to Evren he has served as Chief Commercial Officer at Brookfield Renewable, Head-Commercial at Greenko and Director-Utility Business at SunEdison.
Mr. Kumar has extensive track-record in driving new business models in India’s RE sector such as virtual PPAs, C&I RESCO models, RE parks, inter-state renewable energy projects and transactions based on integration of complementary RE technologies with energy storage for providing Schedulable/Round-the-clock RE power and energy storage services.
Mr. Kumar is also Managing Trustee of National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI). He is also a Chevening Fellow associated with University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
