Bio
Mr. Stefan Kliesch is the Head of Energy at KfW's Delhi office since August 2023. He also serves as the Sector Coordinator for Energy under the German Development Cooperation in India, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. With a master’s degree from Sciences Po Paris in 2015, he is an accomplished international development specialist. Before his secondment to the KfW Office in Delhi, he managed KfW projects in West Africa, with a focus on conservation of protected areas as well as agricultural finance. Mr. Kliesch had joint KfW in 2016.
Together with his team, Mr. Kliesch is supporting the sustainable and inclusive energy transition in India on its way to carbon neutrality. Under the Indo-German Financial Cooperation, KfW promotes the construction of solar, hydropower and wind parks, finances activities under the Green Energy Corridor Programme and Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme and supports energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects. The energy portfolio of KfW in India is currently amounting to EUR 7.7 billion.
