Sooraj Kumar

Sooraj Kumar is the Co-founder and CEO of P3C Technology and Solutions, a company building India's first indigenous perovskite solar module manufacturing platform. His mission is to take perovskite photovoltaics, one of the most promising next-generation solar technologies, out of the lab and into large-scale production in India. Under his leadership, P3C runs a 100 kW perovskite pilot line in Manesar, Gurugram. It is now scaling to a 20 MW line, with plans for commercial-scale capacity after that. Sooraj's approach combines in-house process development, scalable slot-die coating and an indigenous equipment and materials supply chain. The aim is perovskite modules that cost less to make, need less capital to manufacture, and are designed and built in India. Sooraj is a materials scientist by training and an alumnus of IIT (BHU) Varanasi. He works closely with policymakers, investors and industry partners to build a perovskite manufacturing ecosystem in India, and he sees it as a way to reduce dependence on imported solar technology as India moves toward its clean-energy targets.
