Bio
Shubhomoy Ray is co-founder of InfraBlocks Capital and InfraBlocks Technologies, with over 30 years of prior experience in development finance, consulting, investment banking, and project finance, having advised and supported transactions for DFIs and private sector in South Asia and Africa. During most of his professional career, he has worked in the energy and infrastructure sectors, and has deep understanding of project finance, public private partnership, and risk management. More recently, he is raising capital for the InfraBlocks Select Asia Energy Transition Fund and has been working closely with climate SDG focused businesses, mentoring them on governance, bankability and fund raising. He is also working on several industrial decarbonization and sustainability focused project initiatives in the areas of distributed energy, grid stability, low carbon energy systems, energy transition supply chain and fuel circularity, helping them with formulating their business plans, transaction structuring and gaining access to capital. Shubhomoy carries valuable relationship with global project finance institutions, export credit agencies, bilateral and multilateral institutions, commercial and marine risk insurers and re-insurers, infrastructure investors, and funds. He has been a UNESCAP Consultant, regular speaker at conferences and author of several published works for international institutions. He graduated with Honors in Physics from Presidency College, Calcutta and has a PGDM (MBA) from IMI, New Delhi, in academic affiliation with IIMD Lausanne.
