Sanjeev Sinha is a business and technology leader with 36+ years of experience across energy, infrastructure and digital businesses. He is Chief Operating Officer and Head of India Operations at Hygge Energy Inc., Canada. Previously, as President – Digitalization at India Power, he built and scaled a new technology business vertical and led digital transformation across the power sector. His expertise spans energy technology, AI and digital transformation, P&L leadership, cybersecurity and AI governance. A Certified Independent Director from IICA, he has also completed the Board Leadership Program on AI Governance at NUS Singapore. He was recognised as CII’s CIO of the Year 2025 – Energy.

Sanjeev Sinha is a business and technology leader with 36+ years of experience spanning energy, infrastructure, engineering, digital businesses and board governance. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Head of India Operations at Hygge Energy Inc., Canada, and is a member of its Board.
Sanjeev previously served as President – Digitalization at India Power, where he led the Digital Business P&L and built and scaled a ₹300+ crore technology-led business from inception. He created new digital revenue streams for the power and infrastructure sector and established technology partnerships across Australia, the USA and Canada. His transformation initiatives have delivered significant operational efficiencies, including a 22% reduction in costs through process automation.
His career includes senior leadership and board roles across energy, smart metering, technology, analytics and digital services, including OnProcess Technology, Nihilent Analytics & Abzooba, and Mjunction Services, a Tata Steel company. He has also served on the boards of energy-infrastructure and technology businesses.
Sanjeev brings strong expertise in digital transformation, AI governance, energy and utilities, cybersecurity and digital risk, P&L leadership, infrastructure transformation and technology-led business growth. He is a Certified Independent Director from IICA, has completed the Board Leadership Program on AI Governance at NUS Singapore, and an Enhancing Board Focus on Risk Management programme at IIM Bangalore.
An IIT Kharagpur engineer and MBA from Georgia State University, USA, Sanjeev has been recognised as CIO of the Year 2025 – Energy by CII and among the Top 100 Eminent CIOs of India for eight consecutive years (2018–2026). He is also actively involved in industry leadership through the CIO Association Kolkata, the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as a jury member for energy and climate awards.
