Saket Kumar is Deputy General Manager, and heads Sustainable Finance Group, Department of Regulation, Reserve Bank of India. He has around 17 years of experience in the field of financial markets, economic analysis, financial markets regulation and supervision, macro and micro research in economics and finance, public policy, and central banking. A risk management expert having expertise in implementing cutting-edge risk management models and practices for the organisation as a whole and at portfolio management levels. He played a key role when RBI was conferred with the Risk Manager of the Year award from Central Banking in 2023. He has Master of Financial Engineering from Haas school of business, University of California, Berkeley and FRM. He has been conferred Diamond Jubilee scholarship from IIBF for a report on AT1 bonds in India. Has also contributed to the book on Risk Management of School of Management Studies of IGNOU. He is currently leading the initiatives of RBI on Climate risk and Finance. He also represents RBI on the climate related working groups at the Financial Stability Board (FSB) and Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).
