Dr. Rohit Gupta is a senior Indian Administrative Service officer of the Rajasthan cadre (2006 batch). He is an alumnus of the IIT Delhi and MPP & PhD holder from Princeton University, USA in Public Affairs. With a unique blend of technical education and policy expertise, he has built a strong reputation for driving administrative excellence in economic governance, investment promotion, and sustainable development. Currently, Dr. Rohit Gupta plays a key role in advancing Rajasthan’s renewable energy transformation agenda, serving as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL), where he fosters collaboration between government, industry, and investors to accelerate clean energy deployment.
He has held strategic portfolios including Commissioner of Industries and Bureau of Investment Promotion, Secretary, Finance (budget) and District Collector in six Districts of Rajasthan. He has been integral to major investment facilitation efforts such as the Rising Rajasthan initiative, leveraging technology-led innovation and public-private partnerships. Dr. Rohit Gupta’s leadership extends to thought-leadership platforms, exemplified by his role as advisor to the Board of IIM, Udaipur.
