Shri Raghavendra Desai is associated with Thermax Limited's Heating business and its innovation and technology development activities. His work has included the development of advanced industrial heating and boiler technologies, with a focus on improving efficiency, reliability and fuel flexibility.
Shri Desai was part of the Thermax Heating team that received the Dr. N. D. Joshi Innovation Award in 2024 for the development of the UPRG—an ultracompact, competitive and reliable biomass boiler designed for highly fouling fuels. In 2025, he was also part of the team recognised for an innovative small-capacity NIBR electric boiler.
His work reflects the role of industrial technology innovation in improving process-heat performance and supporting the transition towards more efficient and lower-carbon energy systems.
