Bio
He is professor in the Dept. of Management Sciences, IIT Kanpur. He founded the Centre for Energy Regulation (CER) and the Energy Analytics Lab (EAL). His career spanning more than 25 years includes submissions of inputs for 200+ regulatory and policy documents issues by Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, State Governments, Central /State/Joint Electricity Regulatory Commissions, Central Electricity Authority, Grid-India and other power sector institutions. His area of expertise includes regulatory, policy and economics perspectives to power market, renewable energy, regulatory governance, resource adequacy, forecasting, energy access, energy pricing, energy finance, electricity derivatives, market monitoring, cross border electricity trade, carbon market, climate policy modelling and NetZero strategy including modelling and analytics thereof.
He is currently an Independent Director of M.P. Power Management Co, member of the NITI Aayog’s Energy Modeling Forum, and is/was member of the Advisory Committee of CERC and SERCs.
