Niels van Buuren brings around 35 years of international experience across the global energy value chain e.g., in oil & gas upstream and midstream, power, chemicals, marketing & trading and private equity, with a strong focus on green molecules and the energy transition. He has held executive board positions and leadership roles at top-tier energy companies e.g., Centrica, AtlasInvest, McKinsey and Wintershall DEA, building companies and empowering high-performing teams with expertise in capital project delivery, operational excellence, strategy, M&A, commodity markets and regulation.
As Executive Vice President Commercial at Power2X, Niels is responsible for all commercial aspects of capital projects e.g., long-term supply and offtake contracts for Methanol, SAF and Green Hydrogen. He applies his extensive industry knowledge to advance the company’s clean molecule projects and methanol business, enabling the decarbonization of energy-intensive value chains such as aviation and road transport.
