Bio
Mr. Nagesh Sayam is a seasoned renewable energy business leader with over 21 years of experience across the power and renewable energy sector.
Nagesh currently heads Renewables Business at GMR Group as Chief Business Officer, where he is leading the development and scaling of the company’s renewable energy platform, including utility-scale Solar, Wind, Hybrid, and BESS projects.
Over the course of his career, he has played a key role in developing more than 4 GW of renewable energy projects across India and international markets, with experience spanning strategy, business development, investments, M&A, project execution, and asset management.
Prior to GMR, he spent ~8 years with ReNew in leadership roles across Strategy and Global business development, where he led major renewable energy bids, international expansion initiatives, offshore wind strategy, and large-scale strategic projects.
He has also worked with CLP Group for ~8 years before ReNew and brings deep techno-commercial expertise across the renewable energy value chain.
Nagesh holds an MBA in Finance, and is a CFA Level 1 charter holder, B.Tech from GMRIT and has completed executive programs through Harvard Business School, NYU Stern and IMD Business School.
