Mr. Makrand Lad is the Vice President for High Pressure Gas Mobility Solution Business at Time Technoplast Limited. (from March 2025)
He is 45 YO having Master of Technology from VNIT Nagpur and B.E from Pune University, residing at Thane. He has 17+ years of career in powertrain & vehicle product development for automotive, heavy-duty trucks and off-highway applications in India, Japan & China. He has strong organizational experience in developing R&D ecosystem for alternate fuelled & sustainable product development. In his career he has contributed to AVL, M&M, Suzuki, Geely, GWM; from concept evaluation to SOP phase of engine and vehicle. Prior to Time Technoplast, he was key member at Volvo Group India for setting up & mentoring the team at Bangalore to support global Hydrogen fuelled engine, fuel cell & vehicle development program. He has played the key role in setting up many the Govt-Industry and Industry-Academia partnerships.
At Time Technoplast, for high-pressure gas storage (Type III and Type IV) composite cylinders (H2 & CNG) vertical, he is driving innovation, requirement engineering, resolving safety concerns, customer dialogues, marketing & overall Product Management; applicable to automotive, aerospace, gas transportation and stationary storage applications. He is practising data driven and digital twins for product development to reduce product development time with reduced number of designs. He has played pivotal role in TTL’s partnership with German and Indian Tier I suppliers. He is strong promoter of make in India, sustainability, SOC (substances of concern) & decarbonization drives.
He was also a joint convenor of SAE India Hydrogen BAJA 2025 & BAJA 2026 event and like to encourage & mentor young blood. He is also an author, speaker & panellist for various national & international conferences, exhibitions of Energy and Automotive sectors and conducted multiple Tech Talk sessions
