Jitendra Srivastava

Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, assumed charge as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of REC Limited on 22nd April 2025. He is a 2000-batch Indian Administrative Service officer of the Bihar cadre and brings more than 25 years of distinguished experience in public administration, policy implementation and institutional leadership.

His appointment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on 18th April 2025 in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India under the Ministry of Power.

Before joining REC, Shri Srivastava served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. He had earlier held key assignments in the Government of Bihar, including Secretary in the Home Department and the Public Health Engineering Department. His career spans finance, power, education, public health, infrastructure and grassroots governance.

Under his leadership, REC delivered record financial and operational performance in FY 2025–26. The Company achieved its highest-ever annual disbursements of ₹2.11 lakh crore and record sanctions of ₹4.09 lakh crore. Its loan book reached ₹5.84 lakh crore, net worth crossed ₹84,000 crore, net profit stood at ₹16,282 crore and total income rose to ₹59,187 crore, reinforcing REC’s position as a leading financier of India’s power and infrastructure sectors.

REC also strengthened its leadership in sustainability, risk management and digital resilience. It received the highest NSE ESG rating among 505 Indian companies and became the first Indian public-sector NBFC to comply with ISO 31000:2018 guidelines for enterprise risk management. The Company further maintained a robust information-security framework, including ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification covering its Data Centre and Disaster Recovery Centre operations.
