Harpreet Singh

Harpreet Singh is a Programme Lead in the Energy Transition team at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). He has over 14 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, spanning policy advisory, programme design, technical assistance and project implementation. His work involves close engagement with central and state governments, electricity utilities, and industry stakeholders to address policy and implementation challenges in scaling renewable energy.

At CEEW, he focuses on distributed renewable energy, innovative deployment models and regulatory frameworks, supporting national programmes and state-level initiatives.

Before joining CEEW, Harpreet worked with the USAID-South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), providing technical assistance to governments on renewable energy deployment, regulatory reforms and national schemes. Previously, at ICLEI South Asia, he worked on urban energy transition initiatives covering renewable energy integration, battery energy storage and offshore wind development. He also supported the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and state agencies under the European Union-India Technical Cooperation Project on Energy. Earlier in his career, he worked in renewable energy project consulting, execution and business development.

Harpreet holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, postgraduate diplomas in Business Administration (Finance) and Environmental Law and Policy and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
