Born into a family of traders in Chintamani, Karnataka, Mr. D.V. Manjunatha displayed entrepreneurial instincts early on. Deeply moved by India’s recurring energy crises, he envisioned a future where solar energy could empower every home. He founded Emmvee in 1992, beginning with solar water heaters, laying the foundation for what would become one of India’s leading integrated solar PV companies.
Today, as Chairman and Managing Director of Emmvee Photovoltaic Power Limited, he has steered the company into becoming the second-largest pure-play integrated solar PV module and cell manufacturer in India (by capacity, CRISIL Report). Under his leadership, Emmvee has built a robust capacity of 10.3 GW in modules and 2.94 GW in cells, with a product portfolio spanning TOPCon and Mono PERC technologies.
With nearly three decades of experience in the solar industry, Mr. Manjunatha has guided Emmvee in supplying high-quality solar solutions to industries, DISCOMs, and international markets. His efforts have earned the company multiple awards, including recognition for Outstanding Export Performance by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and Solar Consumer Choice Brand Awards.
Beyond business, he actively supports social and community development initiatives through the Emmvee Foundation, aligning with his vision of a sustainable and self-reliant future for India.
