Bio
Dr Ravi Misra is an eminent Petroleum Geologist, with over four decades of professional experience encompassing entire spectrum of domestic & International E&P business, in various roles & capacities. He possess diverse & vivid expertise in Exploration & Development, managing projects, spearheading fiscal and operational performance and leading teams, Business Development & Asset management. He has strong professional skills in domains of basin analysis, acreage evaluation & block bidding, strategic planning and corporate administration, execution of E&P contracts, liasioning with Govt & regulatory authorities, R&D coordination, farm-in/ farm-out of E&P opportunities, leading unconventional oil & gas ventures and managing independent international business assets.
Currently Dr Misra is engaged as Advisor in DGH. Earlier, Dr Misra held the position of ED-Chief-E&D,ONGC, Director-OAAL, Director ACP. He was Regional President Colombia & MECL after serving as Country Manager in Colombia in OVL.
In his career before, he was Project Leader-Unconventional in ONGC. He has made pioneering effort and made a significant imprint in exploration of Shale Gas, Tight gas, & Basin Centered Gas in establishing significant gas volumes in major basins, and now involved in DGH in promoting Gas Hydrate, Geothermal and Natural Hydrogen exploration & development in India in collaboration with National institutes/organizations.
Dr Misra holds Master Degree in Geology and Ph.D on Mahanadi delta. Besides, DPA, MBA and PMP, FAE-EIA. He has been member of several ONGC task-force/committees like on Stranded gas, Innovation council, Pan IIT R&D prog, ISRO–ONGC Research Prog and lead collaborative research with several universities.
He has authored, presented more than 84 technical papers/presentations in national and international journals/ conferences, besides being invited as Chief Guest/ session chairs/panelist or delivered invited/key note talks and editor in Springer.
He has several distinctions and awards to his credit like Award for successive discoveries & rapid monetization, CPO-5 block Colombia-ONGC Videsh-2020, Best Performing E&P Block in ONGC Videsh, 2018 & Best Performing Producing Asset in ONGC Videsh, 2016, ACG Asset, Azerbaijan besides several times/years achiever of best performer in ONGC.
