Bio
Dr. Dhruba Purkayastha is a leading expert in sustainable development and climate finance with over 30 years of experience spanning international development, public policy, management consulting, and financial advisory. He has led high-level climate, energy transition, and sustainability initiatives with global and national organizations, including the World Bank Group, Climate Policy Initiative, and CEEW, as well as key policy bodies such as the Ministry of Finance, NITI Aayog, and IFSCA.
Currently, Dr. Purkayastha serves as Senior Adviser for Climate & Environment at Dalberg Advisors, leading work on climate policy and finance, cleantech manufacturing, and industrial decarbonization and energy transition. He is also a Visiting Professor of Climate Economics and Finance at the London School of Economics and IIM Calcutta and a Senior Fellow with ITA, Mission Possible Partnership. Dhruba holds a bachelor’s in engineering, an MBA from IIM Calcutta, and a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi.
