Anil Kottantharayil

Prof. Anil Kottantharayil is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, where he holds the Bank of Baroda Chair Professorship in Circular Economy, Green Energy and Sustainability. He holds a B.Tech. from NIT Calicut, an M.Tech. from IIT Bombay, and a doctoral degree from the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, Germany. His research focuses on silicon solar cells, photovoltaic module reliability, advanced semiconductor devices, and solar panel soiling and mitigation. He previously worked at the Interuniversity Microelectronics Centre (IMEC), Belgium, before joining IIT Bombay in 2006. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and a Senior Member of IEEE. He also serves as Professor-in-Charge of IIT Bombay’s Photovoltaic Technology and Innovation Centre.
