Ajit Pandit

Ajit Pandit is the Founding Director and CEO of Idam Infrastructure Advisory Pvt. Ltd., with over 30 years of experience in power-sector policy, regulation, market design, and renewable-energy integration in India and abroad. He has led several technical assistance projects for international agencies, including the World Bank, USAID, DFID, GIZ, ADB, and REEEP. His international work includes regulatory and policy assignments in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Eswatini, Kenya, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

He has played a key role in pioneering initiatives such as MSKVY 2.0, FIT frameworks, RPO monitoring tools, REC mechanisms, JNNSM guidelines, National Wind Mission, and wind repowering policies. A former Member of the FOR Technical Committee, he specializes in energy modelling, resource adequacy, and flexibility studies. Ajit holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MMS and is a published author and invited speaker at international forums.

Ajit has expertise in Energy Modelling tools for Capacity Expansion, Production Cost Optimization, Reliability Assessment and Resource Adequacy Assessment. He has been involved in guiding Flexibility Resource Initiative (FRI) studies for four Indian States with LBNL, Resource Adequacy Planning studies for several states in India and continues to support FOR-WG on the formulation of the Resource Adequacy framework for Indian states.  

Ajit is a graduate in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Management Studies. His articles have been published in several reputable journals, and he has been invited to serve as a distinguished speaker at several international conferences.
