Bio
With over three decades at State Bank of India, Ajay Saxena has seen Indian banking from many vantage points. He has worked across retail , MSME and Real Estate sectors, led big teams and businesses, and built deep experience in business development, credit management, operations, and compliance.
Today, at SBI's Agriculture Business Unit , he helps shape the policies, products and strategies that strengthen agricultural credit and channel investment into the farm sector. His work centres on agricultural infrastructure, renewable energy financing, value chain financing, structured project lending and new ways of delivering credit to those who need it.
He has been closely involved in making agricultural and renewable energy projects more bankable, particularly under PM-KUSUM. He believes that farming and clean energy can grow together, and that the right financing models and broader institutional participation, can open real opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs, and India's energy transition.
