Information
KfW Development Bank implements German Financial Cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Government, supporting developing and emerging economies in building resilient infrastructure, expanding access to essential services and pursuing environmentally sustainable growth. In India, KfW has become an important financial partner to the energy transition, supporting solar parks, rooftop solar, solar-powered agricultural pumps and energy-efficient development. Its long-standing engagement with India’s Green Energy Corridors has helped finance transmission lines and substations required to carry renewable electricity from resource-rich regions to major centres of demand.
KfW’s presence at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo 2026 brings the critical perspective of development finance to a congregation focused on scale. India’s renewable-energy ambitions will require not only new generating capacity, but also transmission infrastructure, affordable capital, credible project design and mechanisms that reduce risk for public and private investors. KfW’s experience in financing large infrastructure programmes and building international development partnerships can deepen discussions on how long-term climate ambition may be translated into financially sustainable, socially responsible and implementable projects.
