GIZ supports partner countries in modernising their energy systems through renewable energy, energy efficiency, grid development, institutional strengthening and practical implementation support. In India, its cooperation has included initiatives involving distribution companies, demand-side management, data and grid operations, renewable-energy integration, storage systems and emissions reduction. Its approach recognises that the energy transition is not only a technological shift but also an economic and social transformation requiring capable institutions and solutions adapted to local conditions.
GIZ adds substantial value to the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit through its experience of turning international cooperation into programmes that work on the ground. Its understanding of utilities, policy implementation, capacity building, private-sector participation and international knowledge exchange can help move discussions from aspiration to execution. It also offers a valuable comparative perspective on how India’s transition can draw from global learning while remaining responsive to its own developmental, institutional and affordability priorities.
