The Center for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) is one of India’s leading think tanks, with a mission to enrich policymaking through innovative approaches using science and technology for a sustainable, secure, and inclusive society. Founded in 2005, CSTEP works at the intersection of science, technology, and public policy, with a strong focus on evidence-based research and solutions that are implementable at scale.
CSTEP’s work is anchored in the grand challenges of our time, including clean energy transition, clean air, and a sustainable and secure future for all. Its research spans renewable energy, energy systems, climate and sustainability, clean air, artificial intelligence for social impact, materials and strategic studies, and computational tools for policymaking.
CSTEP works closely with governments, institutions, industry, academia, and development partners to translate research and technological innovation into actionable policy solutions. Its approach emphasises collaboration and an ecosystem of partnerships to drive meaningful and scalable impact.
