The Asian Development Bank supports the transition towards reliable, affordable and low-carbon energy systems across Asia and the Pacific by combining long-term finance, technical assistance, policy support and institutional capacity building. In India, ADB has helped mobilise renewable-energy investment through programmes involving the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, supporting technologies including solar, wind, biomass, hydropower and cogeneration. Its engagement also extends to emerging models such as floating solar integrated with battery energy storage, designed to improve grid stability while using land and water resources more efficiently.
ADB’s presence at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit is particularly significant because the energy transition cannot be driven by technology alone; it requires patient capital, credible project structures, strong safeguards and an inclusive approach to development. Its experience across diverse Asian markets can enrich conversations on blended finance, project bankability, resilient infrastructure and a just transition, helping connect India’s renewable-energy ambitions with global development finance and regional best practices.
